Purge Data

This function enables Tag Event logging and other transactional data to be purged from the TagNet Repository. Over time event data can grow considerably, slowing down performance of various TagNet operations. Note that the purge does not save the data for subsequent recovery or import. You must maintain your own backups before purging.

On or Before

Enter that date that you wish all logging to be purged equal to or older than the date entered. The default date goes back 60 days

Inventory Transaction

Selecting this check box purges Transaction History data (LOCIH file) based on the On or Before date selected above

EPC Event History

Selecting this check box purges data from EPC event history which holds compliancy info

Physical Inventory

Selecting this check box purges Closed Physical Inventory Sessions based on the On or Before date selected above

Schedule and Reader Logs

These selections purge event data from Schedule activity based on the selections below:

Keep Last Read Event – Selecting this check box retains the last read event for each unique tag, for each Reader location, regardless of what the purge date is

Per Tag – Selecting this check box gets even more granular retaining the last read event for each unique tag regardless of last seen Reader location

Location ID

If this value is left blank, then all logical reader locations will be included. If a specific location is selected, then only that is considered.

Tag Reader ID

If this value is left blank, then all physical reader locations will be included. If a specific reader is selected, then only that is considered.

Submit

This button submits the purge job based on the selections taken

Note: submitting this job can take considerable time dependant on the size of the activity logs. This job requires an exclusive lock on the Reader logging files so ensure that no other TagNet activity is taking place during this purge… this includes shutting down the TagNet Event Monitor and any Reader Schedules that are still active.
