Creating an Event Subscription workflow - QuickStart

 

This QuickStart section will walk you through setting up and configuring the various functionality within TagNet to RFID enable your workflow. There are multiple steps to start you off from very simple to complex workflow interactions.

 

Create a Physical & Logical Reader Profile

 This is the Reader Management foundation of TagNet

1.Log into TagNet and take the Physical Readers menu option (under Reader Management heading)  

2.Create a Physical Reader Profile using the [Add/Create] button or the Copy link.  

3.Ensure reader is communicating on the network and reachable from TagNet server 

4.Create a Logical Reader Profile and link your Physical Reader Profile in Step #2 

5.Create an Event Subscription and read some unmapped tags 

6. Your Done!  You are now ready to go to the next level of configuration.

 

 

Commission your Tags

This is the Tag Commissioning foundation of TagNet and maps your tags to meaningful identifiers

1.Create a Base Item in the Product Master  

2.If tracking assets, create an Asset profile in the Asset Master  

3.Create your Location Matrix in Location Setup so that you can inventory your tags.

4.Commission your tags to to the Products or Assets you have created, there are (3) options to do this: 

Use the Commission/Map function with a fixed reader and antenna 

Use an RFID handheld reader with the TagNet Mobile app installed 

Use an RFID printer to produce' SmartLabels. This is an advanced topic. 

 

 

Track the movement of your RFID Inventory

 Configure Steps #1 & #2  in the Object Maintenance section

1.Create your Location Matrix in Location Setup if you haven't done so already.

2.Setup your Inventory Movement Rules  

3.Visualize the read events in real-time using the Event Viewer 

4.Look at your Inventory Transaction History to see Inventory movements  

 

 

Once an organization has gleaned some experience with the above QuickStart workflow, they can start to implement TagNet on a production basis.

 

Importing Object Data (Products, Parts or Assets) into TagNet

1.Export your Asset data into the TagNet import layout in XLS or CSV

2.Look at your Product Master and Asset Master to see the data populated
